...very cool...but I don't think I want a clock in the stereo room...and I know categorically that The Wife wouldn't want it anywhere else...

At least it is on sale......

I am in the process of building an industrial style steel and wood stereo shelving unit/ turntable shelf system using live edge wood, and in the process of design, thought the nixie might be a good fit.....

The digits don't look particularly attractive on that one, especially the 2 and 5 shown in the photo.

I've had a Jeff Thomas nixie clock, running continuously for about 13 years or so (excluding the odd power cut and moves).

I know there are better nixie clocks out there....but likely not at that price point.

I wouldn't have paid the original $230 asking price for it. For $150.00, I'm willing to take a chance.

If I had $600USD to blow:

Well, my new Nixie clock has arrived. Actually yesterday. My wife likes it so much it now has a place in her brand new kitchen (not sure if I can steal it back to install in the sound room). Her only suggestion is that somebody (me) should build a steam-punk style enclosure to show it off a little more....my son (who built a vanden graf generator into an old-style mantel clock enclosure) hasn't seen it yet, but I know we will be ordering another one pretty soon. It really is a nice piece of kit....well executed, all the digits are clear, well defined, the thing keeps accurate time and has over 20 different settings (day, month, year, 12-hr or 24 hr clock etc). It also has blue, orange, green illumination. For me, it gives me a legible time in cool tubes....who could ask for more....

Recommended FWIW... Parts Connexion were quick, responsive, the packaging was great, the item was obviously new.....all a good story.
