Hi,
I would just like to post some thoughts on the Unity Link Basic Interconnect I won in an auction on ebay last week. First off, they're very nice looking cables. The build quality looks like some time and effort were put into making these. I originally had Audiquest G-Snake's but one pair just happened to go for a crap just before I won the auction. Thankfully the Unity's showed just in time for me to replace my AQ's with the new ones. The Unity's made quite a difference in my system (it also did hurt that I changed the set up of my system - I actually bi-amped my speakers) by really opening up the whole soundstage. I realize that biamping accounted for most of the change in sound but I'm not going to take credit away from the Unity's. For the money I spent on them as far as I'm concerned, they are a great interconnects. Just to note I do not by any means have a killer system. But the main thing is that I'm very happy with it and it does the job and then some for what I need it for. Anyone looking for a nice sounding as well as nice looking interconnect should check the Unity's out. Get a hold of Omer @ Oz Enterprises to see if he has a demo set for you to try out. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised with the results. Here's what my system consists of:

NAD C320BEE - int. (using both pre & power section - power to hi freq.)
NAD C270 - pwr amp (running to the low freq.)
NAD C521BEE - cd player
NAD C422 - tuner
Totem Acoustic Sttaf - speakers
Kimber Kable 8PR - speaker cable
Audioquest, Unity Link & Ultra Link - interconnects

Thank you,

Peter

Thanks for sharing your impressions Bacon. 8)

Yes, samples are available for anyone who'd like to try them, either these (Basic Link) or the Link, and coming soon will be the Silver Link. :o

Here's a pic of the Basic Link:

Just picked up a pair of these on auction from Omer at Oz Enterprises. I've been dealing with Omer for 4 years now and he's never steered me wrong with any product that he's represented. So, of course, I was intrigued at what he might be able to produce when he started making his own gear. While I'm not ready for a new pair of speakers just yet I was definitely in the market for some new interconnects. :D

The Unity Basics are hooked up to my DAT player and I started off by playing some high quality Grateful Dead shows that I know every note and nuance of so as to get a comparison with the Monster interconnects that they're replacing. The best word I can come up with is "organic". The tones are sweet and mellow and the bass response is thunderous. They've definitely lifted a veil that was there with the Monsters and allowed my tube gear to work its magic.

Thanks again Omer!

Oz: do you still have a free trial policy in effect - curious about your speaker cables (I am always skeptical but your price range is friendly)
Tks

Same RCA plugs that Rob at Applause put on my DH Labs BL1s (thought I have since upgraded). Good robust design and well must be sonically pertty darn good because the BL1s certainly were!

Yes, PM or email me with your address info, and the length you need, I'm happy to send out a sample, either speaker, interconnect, or power cable.

Hmmm, how many flowerey ways can I use to describe "no difference"? :P
Seriously, I wanted a distinctive connector that wouldn't raise the price of the cable, or degrade the sound. This fits the bill, and it avoids comments like "hey, that's the same plug used by..........".
:P 8)

They're fantastic!
We've got the Airloc tool from QED that we use on QED's products.
I also use the tool on other plugs that we use - worth every penny of the $1000 it costs. :o

So Airlocks on your Unity cables is an available upgrade? I guess it may not make sense to put $100 RCAs on a $100 cable, does it?

I feel that the BFA banana that on the Unity cable is better than the Airloc banana, but the QED Airloc spades are more robust than the regular spade used on Unity speaker cables.
But, the BFA banana outperforms spades anyway, so putting a spade on is a step backward from the BFA banana plug IMHO.
If a customer asks us to use QED connectors, we'll oblige. 8)
