So you are like me, you want it all, but you've backed down on budget for the new house.
You are a spoiled brat cuz you've had some pretty fine gear in the past.
Front end is digital, amplifier, tubed about 40 watts.
Medium room, mostly jazz, but really anything.
Would prefer floorstanders for some bass......approaching 30hz maybe? But image and big stage
may convince you to stick with bookies.
Ready?
Set.....
GO!

Acoustat Model 2+2's. Mine are circa 1982, 35 years old singing with a younger sibling, a 1983 vintage JBL B380 sub. All of this gave me change out of $2K.

Thank you,

JBLMan (& Acoustat man) :D :)

Mid sized Maggie's. 1.6 or 1.7 as budget allows.

Totem Sttafs. Easy to drive with 40 watts of tubes. I know James doesn't like them, though ;-)

My Reference 3a Veena's are my nicest speaker so far and really amaze me. These are the most expensive speaker I have ever owed this far so not sure if I qualify... I did however audition speakers worth much more, and these impressed me the most.
