Above is the ad in question.

I was slightly hesitant in purchasing this because the seller was new to CAM but decided to go through with it after a couple of email exchanges.

I have sent him the payment via EMT roughly 24 hours ago (and he accepted it this morning) and has assured me that he would get back to me with the tracking # today in the morning.

Nothing so far.. I have sent him an email to which he has not replied.

I know it may seem like I may be jumping the gun here but I wanted to know if anyone actually messaged this seller about the item as well.

When I asked him if he had any feedbacks on other websites, this is all he told me :

I'm an Active Site Supporter on rccanada. Where Aircraft and Radio are being sold. I have good positive feedbacks and you can as well look me up there (hs748). All i ask is your Correct mailing information to ship this unit to so it won't have to be delievered to the wrong address. Once payment is made, please keep me on notice so i can get this deal on the way. I will ship this out tomorrow morning and provide you with the tracking # upon shipped.

Could someone verify this information..? I tried to search but to no avail.

Lastly, in the worst case scenario that this was a fraud, given that the payment was made using EMT, is there any action I could take?

Thanks.

EDIT :

In light of all the posts by other CAM members, I am very confident in saying that this ad is nothing more than a scam.
He has posted pictures which are screenshots from the following video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j39_887LzQ

Further, while he has claimed to be 'hs748' from RC Canada, looking at his profile, the names do NOT match nor the location.

UPDATE (Jan, 2018) :

After two years since the incident, I returned a few days ago from my 4th (yes, fourth) visit to the court (subpoenaed as a witness) and have finally come to a some sort of a conclusion.
The individual who scammed me entered a guilty plea and while his actual sentencing will not be until later in March (I have been informed he will likely be getting off on just a year or two of probation), I have been told I will be receiving my money back.
He will be ordered to pay in increments over a certain amount of time but it will be the full $1500.

Never thought I would get a dime back when I originally lost my money but here we are.. :D
Stay tuned for another update in few months when I receive the cheque

It looks suspicious. If you Google the item you can view images to see if they were lifted from other ads etc. I always ask if I can pick items like this up. Usually no response from scammers.

I tried to do a reverse search but could not seem to find anything.
What made me think the seller was legit was that I offered him a price to which he did not reply initially for 2 days.
Then he got back to me with a counter offer and from there we agreed on a price.

That is a good tip which I will keep in mind though (re: picking it up in person).

Check with your bank to see if the EMT payment can be reversed in light of the situation.

I got to ask after everything that has been posted on this forum about sending EMT's to people
with with no feedback WHY? Work out or not this totally on you. All the warning signs were there
and you still sent him money and now your investigating sounds a little backwards.

Good luck

May be jumping a little quick here.
You say he didn't take the EMT until this morning, scammers would grab it as soon as possible.

Well, it's too early to say. Just because he told you he'd have a tracking number for you later in the morning, and it's early afternoon, isn't a red flag...yet. Heck, I've also promised people tracking numbers in the morning, and end up sending them in the evening if I get busy. Then again, I have almost 100+ feedback, so I don't think the buyers panic.

My only hesitation would have been sending EMT to someone with zero feedback, unless they could provide some other type of feedback like from Ebay or another forum. For ones like this, with that amount of money, PayPal is the best way to go about it.

I'd bet you will be all right on this one.

They're not stolen images, there is a member on rc canada with that handle...

There's time yet.
Ive had a lot of people send me the tracking number a little later than they said, even when they shipped the item on time.

Yea, as I have stated, I hope that I am wrong and am jumping to conclusions here.
Of course, I am just slightly anxious / worried given the lack of communication COMBINED with the fact that he is a new user.

As for those commenting not to expect any help from here, I am not.
I'm just looking for opinions and possibly for someone who may also have contacted this seller.

Good for the OP, that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel on this one. A unique identical username on another forum is always a good thing. What's RC Canada?

Well... that just about seals that then I think...
He is registered to be in "Saskatoon" on CAM and Jarrett is also not the name to which the EMT was sent to (nor is it his name for his email).
