trying to be a little proactive while I wait for my new to me speakers to arrive... looking for speaker boxes for coral beta 8??

I guess the BLH cabs are best but I'd settle for nice looking simple boxes with a single 8" hole in the front of them... temporarily.

Can I buy premade speaker boxes somewhere??

Parts Express has cabs, think Solen and CSS do as well..most require you cut the baffle to size.

Made by Dayton Audio.

Looking at the FR, that'll be a beast to tame.

looking for something cheap and easy as a temporary solution so I can listen to them and not have the raw drivers propped up on the floor!!! I'm sure proper horn cabinets will come in due time

Define "cheap" ...

Have you thought about Open Baffle? All you need is a rectangular board about 16" high X 20" wide (or vice versa) and a simple slanted triangular stand to hold them high enough and aimed at your ears. You may even decide that, after hearing the results, this may become a permanent setup.

OBI56 your suggestion is right up my alley for cheapness!! a quick google revealed this slightly more complex design than just a simple piece of board! http://diyparadise.com/forum/index.php?topic=1090.0

What I described was the only way I remember ever hearing the Corals and that was a while back. It was a bit more complicated than just the single front board and 2 sides as there was an identical size back panel down at floor level and a sort of cleat, maybe 2 or 3 inches wide at the top of the back panel and bottom of the front panel to give the whole thing rigidity. From memory, this crude drawing gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.

BTW, the design you linked to is more of an Infinite Baffle than an Open Baffle design. Both styles work, but have different sounds.

I'm gonna go with the 3 sided ones right off the bat as they'll be their own stands as well :D
