I recently purchased this unit from a fellow camer ( thanks Andy ) and was curious to know what other cam members have the phono stage and what they have used for tube up-grades.

I have this phono stage with Electro Harmonix Gold Pin tubes. I too have been curious about what other tubes to try but I really have no complaints with the EH tubes.

Also interested in hearing about mods that people have done. I recently purchased the same phono stage. I'm just getting back into vinyl so any suggestions would be great.

Sorry but that is not a fact but your personal choice, i tried them all and that one was far from my favourite in many applications.....My personal taste 8) .
Do not have the Jolida JD9 and never owned it, recomendations for 12AX7 tubes or equivalents, any 5751 black plates made in the 50's in the U.S, siemens ECC83( late 50's early 60's production) made in Germany.
Older philips miniwatt/bugle boy...Heerlen made long plate ECC83 from the early to mid 60's.
Often overlooked Raytheon 12AX7A black plates 1959/1960( great overall balance).
Could mention more but that's a start, all the above tubes are Vintage and sound better than most of the stuff made these days ...most audiophiles who have switched from NEW prod tubes to Old vintage tubes will agree on that .

Yes,my personal taste, but many audiophile agree. I'm using Jolida JD9 and tryed all above tubes. 5751 tubes sound to dark in Jolida JD9,especially black plates and analog gear. 5751 sound excellent with digital sources. Siemens 12ax7 and telefunken 12ax7 are also very good (only my taste).

I was very happy with the EH 12AX7, gold pin. Available, and money matches the piece.

That depends very much on the rest of your setup, thats why i have always been an advocate of there is no " best tube" for all applications....you know the one size fits all never had great success

I recently picked up a matched pair of RCA 5751 Black plates circa the early 60's. I have to say that this tube change was a huge one for me. The 5751s really tamed the "hot" ouput of the Jolida in my system and I'm hearing better bass reproduction than ever. I'm very pleased. :D
