Grant Fidelity CD-327A's own chip design allows for filtering, conversion and up-sampling in one single chip.

I just edited the thread title so that if someone does a GF keyword search, it'll actually work...

What's the deal with the grant fidelity love-in on this site? Why don't we just call it Grant Audio Mart?

How does the mention of a product become a slam-fest or love in?
The mere mention?!?

Come on.

Give it a break.

It's not about a LOVE-ON.

Maybe Grant has some good gear for a good price. Who cares what you have.

All that matters is what sounds good to you.

Before you stab people.

Try it.

Guys,

Its been like what- a week since the last person's thread mentioning a GF product was run off the rails?!? Lets keep this on topic please. If you have no real information about this player because you have neither purchased of auditioned one, then kindly shove off. If you choose to ignore this advice (and the CAM Forum Rules), then warnings and/or temporary bans will ensue.

A "chip" costs $15 million+ just in reticle and mask costs, so no, it's not a custom chip. More than likely a Field Programmable Gate Array from Altera or Xilinx

Exactly! So again unless you've got some 1st hand experience with this player or a legitimate (non- thread crapping) question about it, don't bother. Thank You.

Happy Trails!

Hi Nuck, Thanks for pointing that out, this isn't a GF design, I changed the 'own', as it is the designer's not GF. The designer does own at last count 22 turntables and tons of vinyl, and that is why he custom programs various parts of the unit, how close to vinyl can he get, type thing. GF did typical tweaks on the output and power supply. As A4L pointed out it is what you do with programmable chips that makes them custom.

Cheers,
Ian
