I know it is not hi-rez or anything (in fact, it is in lossy 256kbps AAC ".m4a") and you won't get a bunch of CD's, but iTunes Store Canada is selling the entire "111 Years of Deutsche Grammophon" download set for $9.99. That is, $9.99 for 730 tracks, 55 albums/CD's of classical music :mrgreen:

Interestingly enough, individual tracks are still priced @ $0.99...

Thanks. I saw the cd set at HMV for over $100.00. I own a lot of it on LP already but it is a nice set, so I will likely get it.

Me too. Just the album art and all the music info nicely organized into iTunes is worth the money already. 256kbps is not too bad.

I am not a fan of this type of music at all.
It is astounding that so much beautiful, wonderful music can be had for such a pittance.
I hope that each of you get this collection (the format is ok too) to enjoy!

Yeah, I have some of the selections on vinyls and CDs/SACDs too but for $9.99 I saved myself time to rip the musics to my iPod. And, AAC 256kbps is not that bad esp. for on-the-go purpose.

I bought this earlier today. Not much of a classical fan but this certainly gives me something to listen to to get a feel of it. Funny enough this error has had enough downloads today to become the number 1 album on the itunes album chart.

I am not sure when a classical selection was at the top of any charts (excluding the classical top 40) recently, but this is a prime opportunity for enthusiasts.

Just purchased it and is downloading now... unfortunately no original album art, that's disappointing. But still 9.99 nothing to complain.

The whole set is still @ $9.99... may be it is not an error. If it were Apple Canada should have caught it when this classical music set becomes their top seller :lol:

Shouldn't hurt DG anyway since most of the recordings have been released and re-issued so many time they already got their money worth.

I just checked iTunes US site.... $119.99 !!!

There's another version of this 111 collection, which has only 111 pieces of music. $19.99 in US and 11.99 pounds in iTunes UK site.

So error or not here in Canada... great deal !

Before anybody rushes to download the set, it's available from HMV for $30 ++. This download @ $10 is not such a great deal, IMO.

That's for the 6cd version though at HMV not the 55cd version.
