Many Marantz fanatic will say the 2270 or the 2285b is the best receiver ever made by Marantz but.... in your opinion, what is the best one and why ?

I like the 2230, small, nice looking and sound great with Dynaco A-25.
The 1060 is my favorite integrated amplifier for the same reason and for the second AUX input.

Maybe not the best but very attractive according to me....

No, I don't have any of these for sale actualy lolllll.

Lots of good ones in the 2300s but ours was a 1976 vintage 2225. Loved it.

I had a 2270 for quite a while. Just enough power to have some NUTS when needed.
Also a lot of vintage speakers went through that system. Higher power wider choice of speakers.

So I don't know about best but I do know about very good.

You have to get one with pre-outs,and main-in, on it made no later than mid seventies before they sold(out) to Superscope . It must say Sun Valley, California or New York, Plainsville I think on the back ,after that (Chatsworth) is when it started slide.

My personal favourite is 2285B dual power supplies 4 ohm rated, complimentary output section good tuner but still reasonably priced. Somehow Marantz history seems to be miss informed to most audio people. Superscope (Tushinsky brothers) bought Marantz from Saul in Note* 1964! All receivers were built after that at the time of the purchase, they only built tuners, preamps, poweramps, record player 1, and a stereo combiner.Started receiver Model 18 in 1967.Check out www.vintage knob.com under Marantz and then Marantz timeline. So most receivers till the 2600 were when Superscope owned them.

I like how guys with swollen bank accounts and 40lb hammers in their trousers never have to stoop so low as to use pick up lines. He really should get out more ,in the real world ! He's probably related to that Athens Audio Society bunch. But he is most interesting ,when he is drinking beer at any rate. Anybody try that swill yet?

Although I mentioned another receiver in a previous post. The Marantz 2325 in the end is truly in my opinon, is the top receiver Marantz ever made. The lower end receivers nearing the end of the 70's made by Marantz were starting to show cut corners in their construction. Circa 1980, when Philips bought Superscope out for the Marantz name, their products all went to pot. Thankfully, from what I understand, the current Marantz name goes on some really good products worth looking at. Nice thing to see for us old people!.

2230 and up come with pre outs.
I believe that the later 15 series from 30 on up were the same!

I have owned every model from the 2215 up to the 2500 and I find the 2500 with the best overall performance...the 2600 is only better in one way...the quartz locked tuner, even so, my tuner stays on the station with no drift at all...my vote 2500!!!!
