A question for the Bedini's fans out there: what would you think of a Bedini 150/150 feeding a pair of Magnepan 1.6?

Bedini runs in class A from what I've read somewhere; does this mean they are more powerful, watts per watts, than a "regular" amp?

Thanks

The Bedini 150/150 should work very well with Magnepan 1.6

I agree with ktuuri the Bedini should do a beautiful job with the Magnepan 1.6QR it is not a pure class A amplifier i think the first 30 watts are class A then it falls in to class A/B.

I have the 2.5R with a Threshold. Too stiff . I wouldn't mind trying them with a Bedini.

I have two Bedini 150/150's and a Bedini 100/100 1 meg. I used the Bedini 150/150 with my Newform Research R645's and it sounded great. I tried before it a pair of bridged Bryston 2B LP's (200w class AB), a Forte model 2 (200w class AB), an upgraded Threshold 400a (100w class A) and then the Bedini 150/150 (150w class AB). The Bedini sounded the smoothest with the ribbons and had by far the best bass from the speakers. This was improved quite a bit however when I tried the Bedini 100/100 1 meg (100w class A). The detail improved considerably and the bass became even tighter and more controlled.

I now use the 150/150's in two other systems, one with Monitor Audio Gold MA700 speakers and NHT SB3's. I love the sound of Bedini amps.

I think that you will be pleasantly surprised by the 150/150 but if you can find a 100/100 1 meg, go for it. They are very hard to find though (I'm still looking for another one).

I used to run my Apogee Stages with a 100/100 MKII (not the 1 Meg model that Albert owns :( ) and it was blissful.

I would imagine the 150/150 would be an excellent match for the Maggies.
