Hi everyone,

In the effort to clean up the forums I have decided to institute a new policy.

Users who are consistently found to intentionally cause trouble in the forums have always been subject to forum bans. In certain cases, we may now choose to extend these bans to your classified privileges (and this would apply to EVERY current and future account that we find of yours, until the ban is lifted).

Users who flagrantly abuse rules and consistently cause trouble are at most risk here, but we will not be unfair with this policy and will make best efforts NOT to resort to this action if those problems can be resolved reasonably. This is also not an action we will take lightly, but the next time a user feels tempted to abuse the site extensively they should be ready to live with the consequences.

Case in point is the new policy on Avatars. I understand some users are now "pushing the limits", intentionally protesting against the rule by breaking it, or otherwise testing to see how we react. This type of protest is noted, but is unecessary, and we ask that you stop it.

Before complaining about this new policy please consider this entire post. We truly appreciate the knowledge and contribution of all members to the site, and welcome your classifieds and constructive participation, but when things get out of hand then the site, its community, reputation, and also usefulness suffer. I hope you understand and this policy never needs to be used on anyone aside from scammers and trolls.

This is not a thread to debate and derail. All other posts have been moved to cam lounge

Does this rule extend to dealers as well?

I am sure administration is aware of Ian Grant's behaviour?

dont think anything wrong with Ian's comments as long as it adds to the forum or trying to defend some accusations

too many of these going around and sadly, jokers on CAM

audiogon with its censorship and fees is still the defacto website for selling and exchanging ideas (seem to have the most membership). why is that? at the end, it is because the forums are well run and standards are abided

Audiogon censorship makes China look like a democracy.

no argument on that one

can't agree with this, but YMMV.

Agon forums are heavily censored. Just try to post something which negatively comments on one of their advertisers.

Obviously you missed them. The best ones were deleted.
