My Sony turntable often does not trigger the auto return function at the end of play. I'm told this deck uses a light and shutter (optical) trigger to initiate the auto return. Is this something that can be adjusted? Also read the bulb might be out, but I have no idea where this bulb, or shutter is. Anyone familiar with this turntable?

OMG,I need a voltmeter to do this! How crazy old-school is that? But thanks for digging that up for me! I think the lamp is working as sometimes the auto-return does work - just needs some fine-tuning.

That's so crazy old-school that I was using a VM right up till I retired last week.

My quip was not for anyone working with voltmeters, but that a relatively easy adjustment on a piece of consumer eectronics requires the use of one. Mind you this table is pretty complex from a controls point If view.
