Turfed my highly modified Xonar STX and going optical... Mainly because of the implementation of my Granite audio tube preamp and grounding noise.
Scooped up this kit DAC from China...
Will use it with my custom built PSU and leave off the onboard power section on the board.

I'm pulling off the Xonar, the discrete crystal clock and the Burson opamps to use on the DAC as well....

It's an impressive amount of detailed work, I do not doubt.
Is it done for the love? And what level of hi-fi are we talking at the end product? Better than my ca 200$ Micromega MyDAC, I assume.

MyDAC looks like an okay piece of equipment...
I don't see what DAC chip it uses...? Or Opamps?
Also, the power supply is from what? Looks a little lacking as well...
I don't know much about USB audio interfaces, but I think it's also not quite ideal for high-end use....?
