My seller, sensing my hesitation, offered another alternative. Adding an extra $8.00 to the postal order gets you COD. Not perfect, but as close as I can get. He sent me a copy of his invoice when he bought them from Solutions AV. The interaction has been good and I am going to take a chance.

If it was $1,300.00, I probably wouldn't buy long distance.

Hi all. After a few bad exchanges through PayPal I can say that even if the money is in your account, if the buyer is using a stolen account it can be a problem. This is especially true of PayPal, who will go after the seller if that seller sells to a scammer. EMT transfers are primarily a risk to the buyers, because it's generally not reversible (without a lot work), BUT if they can prove it was a stolen account its likely the bank will come after the money. A credit card company will back a buyer every time, but with a bank you never know. In short, just because you have funds in your account doesn't always mean you get to keep it. I've had both PayPal and bank of Nova Scotia put my account into negative balance to take whatever they thought i owed them, and both told me if I didn't pay it would go to collections. The PayPal one did too and I paid it out of fearless for my credit.
