My go to test movie for audio as well as video is "Sucker Punch". A great soundtrack with non stop action and chicks with guns. 8)

What I would like is a list of 7.1 Blurays...Any links people can suggest?

How about Transformers Extinction. It's 7.1 Amos to boot, but even without the Atmos receiver, it sounds good on 7.1.

Great for the big screen

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. The bamboo scene would be impressive on a screen that size.

Do you have it hooked up to a gaming console? If so, try the game called Journey. It's quite beautiful and has a great soundtrack.

Actually I am using it for movies only to save on the bulbs. I have all the gaming consoles except the Wii (Ps3 Ps4 XBone 360). I might try it though...damn Uncharted is coming on Ps4 and that is a must play/see....better order more bulbs

Anything with Giant monsters and crappy plotlines. I'm talking the new Godzilla, Pacific rim, the new transformers movie...

In terms of full professional calibration, it is around $4 to 5 hundred. Expensive, but worth it in my mind. The fellow I used spent several hours adjusting the service menus and the TV looks way better. An absolute must on a projector in my mind. PM me if you would like the name of the guy who did mine.

Battleship (crap movie but cant beat big ass ship w huge guns!)

Couldn't agree more. It breaks the basic rule of action movies. What is the rule? Something/ someone has to be blown up, killed, beat up, blown up, run over, destroyed or blown up in the first 5 to 10 minutes. If not, they are trying to go for plot and that NEVER works in action movies.

Did I mention the blowing up?

I agree crap movie, but it was entertaining. Nothing blows up in the first 5 minutes, but I think the Burrito Scene made up for it

In Battleship nothing blows up for over 40 minutes! LAME! The rest of the blowing up was impressive, but come on 45 minutes of useless talking?!? What were they thinking?

Ok, there is one action movie that breaks the rule and still is good in my mind: Taken. Minor breaking of bones in first 5 minutes, then nothing for 30. After that non-stop killing...action heaven!

Transformers Extinction is probably the current HT audio/video benchmark. It definitely has the best 3D I've seen so far, at least on my TV (Sony W950B).

Thanks for the info Vinyl Guy. For this projector, I will leave as is as I got it used. A bit dim right now, but I'll wait till the bulb burns out and see if she' ok. If not then I'll wait till I upgrade....did I say the forbidden word?? Much appreciated and I'll definitely let you know. I'm sure it is more than worth it, but not for this projector as it will cost as much as the used Sony. Just using this one to learn the ropes and then the next one I will do it for sure (need to upgrade to a better screen as well).

Watched Oblivion...Not a bad movie but the picture was excellent!!

Movies that has won cinematography awards.
- Braveheart (my favourite film)
- Gladiator (I have been always cried when I watched this film)
- Titanic
- The Batman movies
- Star Wars ( it is fantastic)
- The Wolf of Wall Street (about an analogue of the current Bitcoin Trading Exchange Platform)
- Pearl Harbor
Special effects does not necessarily make a good movie.

Bladerunner
5th Element
Oblivion

The Last Samurai
Gladiator
Braveheart

Edge Of Tomorrow (& in 3D)
Valerian (great looking)
The Martian(& in 3D)
Planet Earth & Planet Earth II
Baraka
Bladerunner 2049(& in 3D)
and many more....

calibration number for most TV's and projectors, can be found on line.

They rarely are different in any way across the given model number. So once one has done it the rest can follow with the same settings.

Calibration on the individual level for individual projectors is a MUST with CRT projection.

Repeating the numbers for TV's and digital projectors is just fine and is not going to show more than a percentage point or two between them. Max.

This is probably one of the most informed answers you will find on the net. I've done extensive work with CRT and digital projection, in the use and the design side of the electronics and optical packages. Including designing world class projection screens and surfaces.
