Please suggest some CAM or kijiji adds for the best sound I can buy for 300 to 700. Connecting to a chromecast audio and streaming FLAC + Spotify Premium. Speakers will probably be Energy rc70 because I can get them for $600 but I'm still debating.

Currently own: NAD amps (Lower end and adore them, the 326 is tempting). Image, Paradigm and Energy Speakers.

Music types: House, Rap, Hiphop, Rock, Alternative, and 'anything but country'.

The 2017 Rega Brio is tempting, I saw one for $800 but that's quite a bit of dough. Also, I imagine there are better values in that price range.

Here's the 6moons review which speaks very highly of it:

You cannot go wrong with this unit. Super sound, great imaging and sound stage and great damping....so you get good, clean, "tight" sound. I have a DSP-2070 and really love the power....high current as well so you can drive most speakers effortlessly.

@Pastuch, the NAD BEE integrateds are very good-sounding. You say you are tempted by a 326 and I would be too.

Low frequencies impress. In fact, it's the low frequencies that immediately impress. Playing Joy Division's She's Lost Control, the NAD generates solid weight and presence at the bottom end – in fact, this trait informs the C326BEE's entire sound, which is much more a boxer's heavy bag than his speed-ball. It has undoubted expertise in other areas – timing, in particular, is toe-tappingly expressive, there's fulminating dynamic potency on offer and it's especially revealing when given a well-recorded voice, with its fluid, organic midrange – but it's the scale and solidity of its bass reproduction that's the initial calling card.

I ,too, strongly recommend the NAD 326BEE. Use google and see just how highly rated this unit is.

I use one daily . Absolutely no downsides unless you prefer a more upfront , clinical sound.

do you plan to use a dac with the Chromecast.
if so then the Peachtree units such as this http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/ ... e-decco65/
present good value on the used market, though I would research pricing on that unit first.

@ELOS, that's a local sale item for pickup in Burnaby BC, while the OP is in Ottawa ON.

The NAD C372 is an interesting option, though.

I would also recommend the Yamaha A-S801 at this price point. I traded a NAD C315Bee, which I loved, and started using the Yamaha instead. It has plenty of power and a great built in DAC. I use a Chromecast through the optical in and it sounds great. Not as good as the USB input but to stream from a phone, tablet etc., it's excellent. The USB also will play DSD files if you have any and they sound even better.

It allows you to adjust the base and treble, but if you prefer an unaltered sound, you can choose Pure Direct mode. I generally keep it set in Pure Direct unless I am craving extra bass for hip hop and electronic.

I used the Phono input for my Rega P3, but found I needed an upgrade so I went with a REGA Fono MKII instead.

All in all, for the price listed above here on CAM, it's a fantastic piece of gear.

Thanks to everyone that has replied, I have to say I'm confused on why I need the DAC in the Yamaha with a chromecast. Is the DAC in the chromecast that much worse than the one in this Yamaha. Does the Yamaha sound better than a NAD 326?

As far as the Yamaha versus the NAD, there isn't really a definite way of saying one is better than the other. Both are very good but different- the Yamaha has more features etc. while the NAD is more of a budget esoterica 2 channel integrated of the old school way.

There are a number of reviews of both online ( I really do think you can get an idea of their differences by reading about them ) that can really help-especially if you can't demo them at home.

Then you have to make the right choice FOR YOU.

Oops. I oversaw that part, thanks for showing me. I've found another one for the OP http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649349901-nad-c372-integrated-amp/

The NAD C326BEE is a very nice sounding amp. If you want an amp that also can play at party levels, maybe a used NAD C372 is the way to go for. Energy RC70's are very popular. There's one from http://forums.redflagdeals.com/fs-energy-reference-connoisseur-rc-70-speaker-save-1500-pair-499-ea-1123965/ who prefer Klipsch RF-82's over Energy RC70's. Klipsch speakers are famous for their entertaining party sound with lots of punch, and should mate well with powerful amps like NAD (http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39238 --- http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649355005-klipsch-rf-82-tower-speakers/) , some prefer Klipsch while others prefer Energy, so it's not an easy choice.

'James_W' mentioned Roksan Kandy K1 which should be a very good amp as well within your budget. 'angust63' from http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15659 also says Roksan Kandy K1 is good. Arcam A85 should also be good https://www.whathifi.com/forum/hi-fi/arcam-a85-vs-roksan-kandy-ka1 , but there is no used Arcam A85 currently for sale.

There's also a used Roksan Kandy MkIII for sale http://www.kijiji.ca/v-electronics/edmonton/roksan-kandy-mk-3/1265052791

Good luck with the hunt.
