Hello, I have a buddy who has given me his brand new Audio Note L3 el84 integrated amp, 17w.

Without asking him directly, does anyone know what the value of this piece is? It is stunning, and I have just hooked it up to my diy open baffles and the sound is great.

Thanks

I belive that is an ANK amp (Audio Note Kits). Do you have any pics to share for verification?

I'm sorry, you are correct, it is the kit version.

L3 version of the EL84 with C-Core apparently.

I do believe that is it! Thank you! So converted to Canadian and some value for the construction?

Google is your friend.

Hi,

That amp is the ANKit version of the Audio Note OTO. A used OTO SE (single ended) with a phono stage goes for about $2500. There are various versions of the OTO so you need to be quite specific when inquiring about prices. Single ended is worth more than push/pull, with a phono stage is worth more than without, with C-core transformers is worth more, factory built is worth more and so on. Market pricing of kit built components is always a bit tricky.

It is an excellent amplifier, and if you were given it, it might be your find of this millenium. Replacing it, from a sound perspective, could cost you upwards of $5K.

Cheers,
David Neice
