That's such a shock! So sad to hear. I am such a big fan of him and his whole story, influences etc.

Fairly recently watched the promo DVD from Everything Must Go.

Now he is gone.

There is no appropriate emoji for tears.

Was very fortunate to have seen Steely Dan many times in Toronto. One of my absolute all time favourite groups. A sad day for music indeeed.

The agony continues as we outlive most of our musical heroes.

R.I.P. Walter....one-half of one the greatest songwriting teams ever....

Very sad news. Tonight it's Can't Buy A Thrill.
My sincere condolences to his friends, family and fans.

...from an obit in The New Yorker...love it!

"...when a person reappears on the other side of a Steely Dan song, she feels as if she’s been floated somewhere different."

By no means am I a massive Steely Dan fan but one cannot help enjoy much of their music, and from this feel another loss of this important but often under appreciated guitarist.
