Inspired by the other thread...

What are your favorites under $1000 - floorstander and bookshelves and panels included!

To kick it off, I mostly shop in the under $500 area but so far I've enjoyed the B&W DM100i, Mission 737 Renaissance and Von Schweikert VR1...

Don't know about favorites but for around a grand can usually find a set of Tannoy hpd315's in beat up cabs. I think they are worth a try at that price. Several KEF's come to mind, just love them. The JBL L60T, L80T, etc... don't pull big bucks like the older JBL's but are good value IMO. Picked up a set of Maggie MMG's for $400. I mean, really, what can you buy for $400. Hard to beat at that price. So many others...

How do the 1000 and the 1000M models differ?

The M models had an ugly wire mesh over the woofers.
