Yeah, I know.
I only said "probably right" because that's how I talk sometimes, but it is absolute - 12 AWG jumpers are unnecessary.
So... silver interconnects anyone? :)

I was thinking even 18ga was overkill. Depending on how the drivers are patched together, the 6" jumpers might never even see a fraction of that current.

ripblade: You know, I think you're right -#18 desirable/necessary, but not overkill. But, point taken.

(I suspect the same low-impedance path is important (in transfer function); "loading" a signal carried via #16/14 awg (or lower) to a substantially 'smaller' #18-gauge (yes, I realize no more than 4"-6" -if looped the bi-wire connection, going smaller than #18) would not desirable imo.

Uhh, it's rather obvious that a hair-thin "jumper" can be used. And any o'l interconnect, power cord, and heck, even equipment/loudspeaker is all that IS needed.

Yup, it's certainly an "absolute" that any strip of wire, amplifying circuit and loudspeaker that 'measures' respectably is all that is needed.

Yet, it never is for the passionate listener and even for the sharp-minded mathematician who understands it's essential to look outside the box, outside our comfortable construct in order to see, experience, discover and learn so much more ...

A paragraph isn't necessary about it

If "discovery" does not factor the frailty of the human senses, there is no "discovery".

For me this is just a mental exercise. Well that, plus I hate to see a 100M spool of pure silver wire get chopped up into little bits for nothing....such a waste.

Personally, if my speakers were bi-wireable (which they are), then I'd run 2 lengths of speaker cable (which I do....4, actually...) and forego the additional breaks in the signal path, which are an even bigger compromise than a jumper of hair-thin wire, IMO.
