Anyone know of a Hifi/Audiophile Club in Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge/Guelph?
or would be interested in joining one?

I'm interested in an audiophile club for sure. I'm not interested in listening to the latest Value Village acquisition. I apologize in advance if that sounds snobbish. I have all the time in the world for folks who aspire to be an audiophile but can't afford the kind of equipment they want at the present time. I get weak debating someone that their 1979 Panasonic receiver crushes my ML.

O.P. if you are interested in coordinating the meet-ups, sign up at https://www.meetup.com/find/?allMeetups=true&radius=50&userFreeform=N2L+5N8&gcResults=Waterloo%2C+ON+N2L+5N8%2C+Canada%3ACA%3AOntario%3AWaterloo+Regional+Municipality%3AWaterloo%3Anull%3AN2L+5N8%3A43.4890178%3A-80.56563169999998&change=yes&sort=default

You can set up a club and broadcast to members etc. via this forum. It hosts a number of tools that makes things easier and it is free as far as I know. We could approach Mark at Sound Stage perhaps to host the first meeting?

cheers,

Paul

Be prepRed as I am pretty sure to have a meet up page/group that it cost money.

Good luck with your group and hope you all meet some like minded audio-holics

Peace

Let's see if there is any costs involved...in any case, we could name the club 'Hot Women and Vinyl' and charge the yearly cost up front as a membership fee...by the time they figure it out, the it will be all expenses paid for the audiophiles.

Let me know if I can help out. I'm happy to do a vinyl clinic or host a reel to reel discussion for a smallish group that enjoy a decent Malbec or Bordeaux.

cheers,

Paul

I'm interested. There are a couple of others that would probably be involved as well.

Matt.

A quick check on meetup.com says Glenerd2 is correct: http://www.meetup.com/pricing/ 10.00/month for the basic package that allows 50 participants...perhaps we can find sponsor?

cheers,

Paul

you may want to set up a website instead? i'm part of a Toronto based club. have a look at the website and maybe use it as a guide?
it's very structured and we have a great group of enthusiasts/members. as structured as the club is, the gatherings are informal and always informative and fun.
the site is www.gtaaudio.com
something similar in the western area of the horseshoe would be worth pursuing. I've learned a lot in the 2 years I've been a member.
