I had picked up this vintage pioneer tuner ... Nothing special, just cool looking. When I first picked it up only one lamp was working so I decided to replace the main lamps with LEDs.

Here are a before and after pic.

Regards

Pete

Very cool looking with the leds.
I'm also running a Pioneer tuner.
The TX-9500.
Doesnt need relamping right now but if it ever does i would go with leds too.
Cheers

These were simple plug and play LEDs. No mods required. Price was $7 per lamp ... 3 required for this unit.

I picked up the LEDs from a local electronic store in Vancouver...LEE's electronics on Main Street (no affiliation). They could not assure it would work in my system, as they did not know if the lamps in vintage JVC were running on AC or DC (The LEDs are for a DC source). Took a chance and was lucky the lamps in the JVC were a DC source.

If anyone needs them I will gladly pick some up and send them to you. Just pay for the cost of the lamps and shipping.

Regards

Pete
