Proud of you!! Isn't it great to be able to do something special for someone you love. She will remember this and value the table even more.....and (these kids!) gives her MAJOR bragging rites!

Kudos.

Very well done, Dad. You will, no doubt, be remembered with fondness on Father's Day.

MBpublic, your a good dad, all of my hand me down gear goes to my 3 kids that are all vinyl freaks.
All of my duplicate LP's goes to my kids, as I only listen to clean vintage pressings these days.
However for my birthday the kids all chipped in and got me a killer DAC and upgraded one of my spare laptops with a SS 3T drive and loaded 2 T of HD tracks onto it.
Music runs in the family.
All of the kids gear is vintage Marantz or Luxman, I am a pure tube vintage Mac guy with 4 SP-10 tables and Tannoy horn loaded cabs.
Have fun and keep on giving,

Can I get you to buy my lottery tickets for me?

reviving this thread as I am heading out to Calgary again for Thanksgiving. I picked up this little Analog Acoustics amp for my daughter. Bought it from Bill McCullouch last week and have been playing with it since. Fun little unit, well suited for her musical tastes.

I would have killed for a Dyna 10x on a table back when I first got into this hobby! Was a real eye opener as a first MC, after going up the Rega upgrade path Elys and 2M Red to the Exact and ending up with a Dyna...

Sounds like you did ok! Yes, my budget for the kids is seemingly limitless lol! I got our daughter a Dual ULM DD this spring and was able to find a mint cartridge here on CAM for it. Its fun to search out a simple system for your kids. If she gets into spinning records I do have a couple Technics tables I may sub in. Maybe. :D

Lots of good dads here! I have set up both my sons; the musician got NHT/Luxman/KenwoodTT, the photographer got CelestionDL4/JVC/TechnicsTT. Also taking care of the brother in law - refurbished a Technics SA303 he got out of a junk pile at the garage, gave him my old Paradigms and just cleaned up his salvaged Dual TT and mounted an old Grado on it. Everybody is rocking' (or swinging)! It is hard to pass up the good deals when you stumble on them, but I am running out of people to help, I might have to move on to nieces. It's ok, since the cabin should be done next year and will need 'furnishings'.
