Hey David, where'd you find that nice looking cabinet ? a custom job ? or....... ? 8)

Hi Double D! Thanks for the compliment! I made the cabinet a couple years ago to hold my stereo. The right side cupboard holds my tuner, a dedicated PC and other cartridges, assorted set up tools etc.
The left side holds my single malts!
It’s solid walnut. I also made the coffee and end tables.

Very nice looking cabinet! Reminds me of some of the furniture we had back in the 60's, simple and elegant!

edit: Nice looking gear too!

You should be very happy with your system. A sphinx with a pair of Maggie’s is a killer combo I imagine.

My buddies were impressed tonight... :), so am I. I just gotta hop off this upgrade merry go round and enjoy the music. I like these speakers more than any I've owned, they do that vanishing thing I've read about.

I had a chance to try out a Sugden Class A integrated with my maggies, and overall it sounded a bit nicer than the Sphinx, but what really shocked me was the increase in gain (am I using that term right?). With the Sphinx I could turn it up 3/4 on the vol dial and I didn't get terribly loud, whereas the Sugden I didn't dare turn it past half way. Class A 30W into 8ohms with the Sugden. Anyways it didn't have a phono stage or a headphone amp and the price was a bit past my comfort level. As it turns out I traded in the Sphinx for Cronus Magnum II, can't wait til it arrives! Haha, one last ride on the upgrade merry-go-round, I swear I'm done now...

Nope, then I'd have to upgrade the house, not going down that road.

Nice, i had the twenty 22s a while back. Really amazing speakers

Are those Tyler D1xs next to them? What are those bad boys like?

Not sure I like the Pass Labs and PMC combo so far. I'm going to try Exposure with them in the next few weeks. The last pair I had only came to life with Bryston gear.

When the stock Tyler D1X's came in they sounded like a large Revel speaker. If you are familiar with Revel models they are similar to what a pair of Performa3 F208's might sound like stacked. Great imaging, lots of clean bass but lacking the warmth/rich sound I prefer these days. Still a very good speaker for the price and Danny Richie is probably to thank for that considering he designed the cabinet and crossover. They showed enough promise that I upgraded all stock drivers with $9k in replacements and made the necessary internal changes with some guidance. There are Excel beryllium tweeters sitting in the box that still need to be installed. The sound is now up there with flagship speakers I've heard that were out of my budget, minus the fancy cabinets. Eventually I'll ship them out to Danny for a custom crossover build and testing.

Auditions welcome!
