Hello all techies,
do you please know what is the solution to this problem?

I've a Creek head amp, sounds good but ONLY when the headphone 1/4 inch plug is very carefully positioned in the unit's socket. Ie. plug half-way in. If you place the plug in the usual position, fully inserted, you only get right channel audio.

I've tried 3 headphones out. No joy.
So, I need a repair to the socket I imagine. I have the spare part. But could it be just poor soldering? or could it be something else?
Any ideas appreciated.

Could be a badly placed/spaced socket from the factory, but for sure, fixing a socket is a bad idea and not very cost effective. Replacing the socket is the best and, bu far, the cheapest route, especially if you have the spare part. Have a tech do the jub for you and let him worry about getting it to fit right.
