Define “highend”? Don’t think Audio Note Japan ever made a Ghetto Blaster

Looking for vintage for nostalgic reasons or something a little more modern with bluetooth?

Tons of vintage ghetto blasters on ebay Canada.

Maybe the Bryston BryFi BW-1? it uses battery packs. Not sure if you want modern or vintage.

Looking for something modern - Bluetooth etc... but also something I can carry to the beach or camping etc...
Something that's portable

I have a Sony CFS-9900 and uses 10 size D cells. It also has a provision for 12V input for your car battery. Condition is unknown as I haven't powered it up for a while. I picked this up as it reminded me of the more powerful FH-150R that I grew up with :)

might need to be a bit more specific... portable + Bluetooth = Bluetooth speaker.

you need radio? cd? tape? aux in? price range?

Could add weather resistant to that list of requirements as well. Problem with portable speakers that withstand the elements of nature is that they do not really stack up sound wise. Mind you – blasting your favorite Metallica at a Provincial camp ground will guarantee a visit from the rangers. And I can ensure you they are not coming over to share your affection for Hi fidelity! I speak from experience!

Did someone say D CELLS? Radio Rahim needs 20 for this vintage hall of fame blocko-rocker, mofo!

Yep, I'm off-topic (just a short comic interlude) but when is the next time a ghetto blaster thread is going to appear on CAM?

I have one of the original Outcasts, if good bottom end matters outside, nothing compares.

I have a Soundcast wireless outdoor speaker...the design is similar to the above except it plays back via transmitter from our living room stereo (alternatively you can hookup via Bluetooth). The bass is indeed impressive and the Omni-directional speaker array (4) sound great in the backyard.
