My SR60s were starting to buzz, so thought it a good time to upgrade my Grados. Was looking to go as far as the SR225s, but then a next-to-new pair of SR325s came up.

Four months old, barely used, box, and bonus unused extra-large pads ($60). All in I paid $220. I think I did alright!

I think the new bluetooth only iPhone 7 was my gain in this case. The open-back Grados are never great portable cans to begin with, but I think the fellow who sold them to me found them too heavy....and wired!

Guy was totally cool too, but not a CAM transaction.

I can't wait to for some serious listening on these things!

Curious on the upgrade in audio quality you hear. I have owned a pair of Grado SR80e for a few years but want to move up. I purchased them just to use on my iPad but I have been using them on main listening system with excellent results. I am thinking of getting a pair of RS2e.

Good question. The sound signature is definitely similar, but I do think the SR325s sounds yet more open with better imagining. I did not do an A-B test as I had already purchased the SR325s and had no intent on keeping the 60s. One of the drivers was buzzing and was not going to save or fix them. They had a good 10+ year run.
