For the past five or six years, I had a pair of Denon Ah2000 headphones.
My Usher pre amp does not have an input for phones.
I bought a Project Headbox II headphone amp.
just moved into a condo and am using headphones a lot more.
I upgraded to Beyerdynmamic Amirom Home headphones.
I really want to upgrade the headphone amp as it is entry level unit.
How do I decide what to do?
I am looking in the classifieds and seems like there are so many options.
I have between $300.00 and 500.00 to spend.
These Beyerdynamic phones are so amazing, I want to make sure I am
getting all I can out of them.
Is there something in my price range?
Should I wait and save more cash?
Thanks Glen

Hello there Glen ! First of all congrats for your new pair of Amiron ! They sure are on my waiting list for my next buy. Secondly, I previously owned a pair of Beyerdynamic T1 and T90 and I drove them both with either my stack of Schiit (Magni2U & Modi2U) or my Marantz HD-AMP1 and I must say I didn't see a big difference between the 2 systems.

The stack is pretty economic and does the job really well. Brand new from Schiit it should cost around 400$ with the shipping and duty fees and I am pretty sure you will be satisfied.

Have fun !

Maxime

If you can be patient and since you are in an apartment, I would wait, save more cash and go for a higher level headphone amp, make it worth your while, the newer Audeze Deckard is excellant.

After days of driving myself crazy looking and reviewing headphon amps, I went with
the Schiit Lyr 2 and added the LISST option for solid state.
Purchased from the Headphone Bar in Vancouver.
