Gordon is now 70 years old!
He was backed by an exceptionally talented 3 pc and is a total master on stage.
Great room, totally crap PA, but an excellent, intimate venue.
What a show and all over by 11:30!
was anyone else there?

I was thinking of going but saw that it sold out.
How was his voice?
What songs stood out?

I was a few months ago Mike.
The word on the street (that night) was that Gordon was not feeling great. Regardless, he put good energy into the show. He had this hilarious on stage banter directed at the sound man all night (the sound was ****)
it was like turn it up, turn it down, a little more this, less of this, more of that. round and round it went, but he maintained his humour through the whole night.
His voice was road weary and lacked some of it's classic presence and tone that he has on his records.
I did have several beers, so specific songs are hard to remember. However, his backing band was top notch, super pro. The drummer was good, bass player was absolutely on his game, perfect in tone and timing. The guitar player was special, Scotty Moore sort of style and sound, he never missed a note and Gordon was happy to let him have the spotlight.
I don't know how many more opportunities we will have to see Robert Gordon, but even at 70, he is the most real of deals.
Paul
