We are fortunate here in Nanaimo to have an actual music and performance venue... where the music sounds fantastic. I recently saw Jesse Cook. He's from BC, but you wouldn't know it by the style of music he plays... Check him out here.

Saw Jesse at the Empire Theatre in Belleville, ON, late last year. He performed superbly, as did his band. He sure can make his guitar sing.

Yeah... pretty enjoyable. When you saw them did Chris Church play the Duduk ~ an Armenian flute instrument?

There was a song they couldn't play live until recently... but Chris eventually mastered the Duduk. The Duduk player on the album was from Armenia. Such an amazing instrument.

Have most of his recordings. Interesting to see (hear) the direction he's going in these days compared to the stuff he was doing 10+ years ago. I use some of his recordings to listen for smear when auditioning components. That boy's got fast fingers.

Went to the last Jesse Cook show in Winnipeg, he's really not my usual but I do realize there is a lot of talent there. That said the Jesse Cook show was fantastic and I would recommend his show to anyone with an appreciation for guitar, world music, live music or whatever. They did this song, which of course is a cover and it was beautiful.

Have seen him twice here in Oakville. I would add that the rest of his band is terrific as well.

Sorry, seyla. I can't remember. With my memory, it's an achievement if I remember that I was at the concert. :D
