Hi,

Note to Digital Don.

Put books, on shelves, lots of them, if possible, on the walls behind the speakers. Also, don't forget the ceiling. High frequency ringing and mid-range honking is often from bounce off a stiff ceiling. It is the bane of pro-audio set-ups where guys have to tame steel roofs in bad venues. A couple of days ago I was in a cafe in Wisconsin called the 'Acoustic Cafe', where a lot of acoustic acts and low amplified acts play and they had a flat metal roof that had been treated with hanging panels and the sound was superb. I can only imagine the horror it was before it got the treatment.

We feel for you. Nothing beats the frustration of sorting out a new room set-up.

Cheers,
David Neice
