Computer audio replay can be achieved in a huge number of ways which are described in various articles on this site. But for music lovers starting their journey in Computer Audio here's a handy glossary.

the link shown is a potentially a bit overly simplistic in my view- while well written these are not strictly definitions but rather mixed with opinions about various things ... not entirely accurate, or maybe better said, complete - for example, the section on wireless streaming of 1080p - yes possible but requires a pretty rigorous setup with everything being right.
Here is another source, non- affiliated, that I think provides a better, more in-depth , treatment.

I didn't see the 1080p section. I have been wireless streaming 1080p with Apple TV since the 3rd generation was released 2 years ago

congratulations - others are not so fortunate apparently https://discussions.apple.com/message/18977899#18977899

Regardless, this was but one example . The section on what is a NAS is also not very accurate. I only responded because I think accurate technical information should be just that - accurate and technical.

There can be a lot of pitfalls and misunderstanding re computer based audio and music servers, and IMHO a lot of mis-direction - one example people streaming on a substandard network agonizing over the quality of the USB dac when the signal itself is problematic , the old garbage in, garbage out.
I've been through several iterations; Apple TV one with Broadcom chip, WD box, Pivos, Ouya, Raspberry Pi, dedicated Win 8 touchscreen, headless streaming etc and various clients- XBMC, Plex,Media Center, etc. Each one has been a learning experience and had its own unique benefits and challenges. As a closed ecosystem Apple definitely works well.

I find the link posted helpful on a number of topic for a variety of users . That's all.Enjoy the music
