Just scored a Sony 5000F tuner/amp, will be interested to see who's available.

Now that All-in-one Electronics is gone I don't know who else does tuner alignment in Toronto.

You may want to try http://www.thvservice.com/ (Toronto Home Audio and Video Service). They fixed my Marantz 1070 Integrated amp and my Hafler pre-amp. I don't know if they will do tuner alignment - I have never asked.

Good luck,

Harry

If you are willing to ship your tuner to BC I can help.

Which make and model is the tuner in question?

If the tuner is a true "classic" ... and worth spending some $$ on, then I would suggest sending it to "Radio X Tuners" in Flint. Michigan. Mike Williams is one of the best in the business. His wait list is long, but the work is great. He recently did my Sansui TU-717 and it's purring like a kitten.

I've got a Sony 5000f. Can you PM me a price estimate?

I'm "new" to this forum so I can't PM any of you guys yet unfortunately. I do have below a short list of what I offer. Note that I can read your PMs, it's just that I can't reply to them. In order not to make this thread too commercial, please PM me with your email address so I can respond accordingly.

- precision alignment with before and after test report using Audio Precision System One/Two and Panasonic VP-8131A/8132A
- ceramic IF filter matching, LC filter sweeping and alignment using a network analyzer
- complete rebuild (recap, solder inspection/touch up, re-design, etc.). Thorough analysis will be done to identify any design issues when replacing parts. Not just your typical blind blanket replacement.
- repair
- minimum warranty of 6 months to a maximum of 1 year for workmanship.

I can fix majority of electronic equipment without the aid of a service manual or schematic, also called reverse-engineering.

I had ej251awd service my McIntosh MR74 last year and was so happy with it that I also had him service my McIntosh MA6100. I am 100% happy with the results and would highly recommend his work.

Claudio Landucci should be able to help. He was chief audio technician at Brack Electronics for many years (until the shop shut down) and now works independently.
