I believe it would be better to have a SOLD section on CAM.

It happened a few times that I saw an item, and felt that I will contact the seller in a hour or two, but when I return , it turns out that item is just gone. If it was simply taken off, I can understand, but if it was sold, that is where the SOLD section would come in and read for example "2 hours ago".

What do you all think, is it a great idea to have a separate SOLD section here?

To be honest I don't see the point. If an item disappears I just move on. I sometime do a quick search using it's name in case it somehow got moved but that's about it.

All you need to do is place a "watch" on the ad and if the seller marks it sold it shows up on your Cam notifications.

A "Sold" section would be helpful for approximating the value of equipment as you could see what similar items have been offered for.

Having an option to search "Sold" or "Completed" listings like on eBay would be very helpful. A Google search with correct terms will sometimes get you these but would be nicer through the CAM site.

When marking an item "Sold", CAM prompts me to give the selling price of item. How can this data be found or searched? Would be most helpful when researching value or going rates for items.

"The same model sold a few months ago for $150 more than you are asking. To be fair, I will offer you $150 more than your firm asking price." said no lowballer EVER.

This seems like a useless feature that CAM should not spend the money to develop unless it is to be made available as a perk for paying members. "Everbuddy want for free!"

Actually a pretty good point Quadzilla; make a feature like that only available to paying members. Free members just have to resort to the good old fashioned Google method.

Or "Oh look at that, they are selling for more than I thought they were worth" said potential Lowballer!

Actually far from a useless feature but I don't mind it being a perk for paying members.

I don't think having a "SOLD" section is of much use either. If someone really needs to determine the sold value of a piece there's always HiFi Shark and Ebay Completed.
Takes a minute or two to do that search.

I think its a Great idea, many times I've looked at items for sale, thought about the purchase only to come back a day or 2 later and it's gone?
Where did it go, was it taken off the market or was it Sold.
i.e there was a McCormack DNA-500 for sale, now it's gone..was it Sold or just pulled?

Good thoughts except there are some regular sellers on CAM who mark the sold item at $1 so the flipper who bought it doesn't get caught in the act. I think if the ad were archived and that the sale price must be noted (not just a buck), this would be of value.

With all that said, due to some of the games sellers are now engaging in, the value is limited. And, as already stated, our admins already work their butts off for free; do we really want to burden them with more?

I will keep an eye on the sales item, check HiFi Shark, and make my choice when the ads come up. After all, if I don't like the price, I move on.

Have a great weekend guys!

I think you just answered your own question. Either way you look at your analogy, the amp is no longer yours or anyone else's to buy.

Like dad used to say...sh!t or get off the pot.
