I have been slowly trading up through incredible deals off craigslist in Vancouver.

Countless stories but here is where I am:

Rotel RCD1520 CD Player $320 (Summer 2016) $300 but I had to get a new remote from Rotel for $20
Rotel RC1570 Pre-amp $460 (Summer 2016) Mint condition with the box and accessories...craziest deal ever as current retail is over $1000
Parasound A23 Amp $400 (Spring 2016) One channel was out and I got it for $180 and sent it to Parasound in San Francisco for repair
Paradigm Monitor 9 V7 $500 (October 2016) Paid $700 for the speakers, a pioneer elite avr, and a Yamaha sub - sold the 2 for $200/ $500 Net
Techniques SL-DD22 from my youth...to many memories to replace it ever
Sony stand from a buddy

The amp and cd player are silver and that is my next quest...to find black units for cheap!

If I had to estimate my total cost for what I have now I would guess I am into everything for about $700-800 through buying low and selling high.

My time is not included but it is a hobby so you can't put a price on having fun!

Real nice setup! I had a Vintage Toshiba separates, swapped for an Arcam (can't remember the model), and then ended up getting a Rotel integrated. Really really like the sound. I've used it with Tannoys, Focal, PSB and Monitor Audio with great results. Would love to go higher up the chain.

I have now been able to swap the silver RCD-1520 out for a black unit in better shape.

Total cost should be about $40 once I sell my silver unit.

Now looking for either a black A23 or RB-1582...then I will be complete...oh yeah I am also looking for a musical sub and then a...????

My two channel system as it stands today
Yamaha CA2010 amp...new output caps and led lights upgrade . Previous Kenwood KT3500 amp
Yamaha CT1010 tuner . Previous Kenwood matching tuner
Technics SL2000 turntable ..owned since the early Eighties
Audio Signet TK7SU with TKN3 stylus
Tannoy MKII Ardens.

additional pieces
Akai 747 reel to reel
monster power and surge protector
Silver coated 8ft speaker cables.
Marantz 6300 Turntable..with Ortofon bronze cartridge.
Nitty Gritty record cleaner.
A few vinyl records
My amp is in Class A operation which is the best class for listening to analog music...records.
I find that my system is very well balanced for my listening needs. I do not go out there and replace a lot of stuff thinking that
I may hear a difference . I am happy with it and spend the $$ buying records and enjoying it.
I have never had the opertunity to listen to other systems that may have tube amps etc to make any judgement in listening
quality.
