Once I bought an amp that smelled like that but didn't realize it until I got it home. Could never get rid of the smell. Audio equipment can absorb smells, tobacco or otherwise.

If it's that "Lilly of the Valley" scented candle she can keep it and go home!!
I'll just stare at Albert's Icon for a minute and I'm done and ready for bed......night, night......

Problem is with scented candles and when burning whats in them?
What chemicals used to give aroma?

If you have birds don't usem can kill them
damages birds air sacks

Also many candles darken/discolor walls over time seen this a few times

I don't allow candles to be burned here

Also big safety factor if left unattended.

Do you think it's bad for your equipment?

As long as there are no performance issues it's full steam ahead.

So.

It looks like I am the first person to bring up the "don't burn a candle at both ends" saying.

And here we go...

I don't think my Acoustats would appreciate the smoke from the candles. It would sound like I'm making popcorn instead of whoopee. And the risk of one of my cats knocking one over or lighting their tail on fire is too much to risk. I think I'll just stare at my avatar as well.

Those things stink. If this thread is going to help keep them out of your listening room, then yes they will almost certainly destroy your expensive gear.

Consider Himalayan salt lamps instead of candles. Not only do they set the mood, there are theoretical reasons where they may enhance your system's performance as well as your own well-being. Just make sure they're on their own circuits... 8)
