Came across the following two youtube video clips of some amazing audiophile system and room setups that I though were worthwhile to share.
Just as a word of Warning, both of these setups are certainly "no expense spared".............and your audiophile spending addiction may never be the same again.

Now I know what to do with the winnings if I ever get lucky with lotto. I also wonder why we bother listening to the you tube soundtrack as it can't even come close to reality.

That system would have made Prometheus a better film.

Got a kick out of one of the replies regarding the most expensive speakers. "most people look for deals while audiophiles demand to be ripped off "!

that first room and system is awesome.

anyone wager the cost of the total system(room and gear)?

betting you could buy a half decent sized home.

my guess would be around 500k

I just watched the whole thing and i am pretty sure my 500k is just the system and not the room also..

I am sure that if some members here could be bothered to make videos of their systems... we'd be in for a surprise.

I will create and post a video of my budget system soon, in order to encourage this activity.

No offense intended, but I don't even bother looking at stuff like this as it is so far out of reach (at least for me) that I don't see the point. It's like when my wife asks me to look at houses that we can't afford, I just shake my head, smile and say 'No thanks.' As i see it, the more you do that kind of thing the greater the chance you'll begin to feel deeply dissatisfied with what you already have (or can justify having). I prefer to limit my searching to things that are within reasonable reach.

I'm guessing closer to a milllion.

I agree with that guess as being more realistic. I don't all the prices involved but with all the electrics, room treatments, custom control panel, raised flooring and the contractor to build it all I would say a couple of 100K went into the room alone and I venture there is way more than 500K in gear involved.

Irrespective of the out of this world cost aspect..........the amazing thing about both these room setups is the amazing thought process that went into all of it. Everything is done for a purpose to achieve a goal. Everything is matched to achieve a particular synergy.

In the first video you really need to pay attention to the " hall of fame" of vintage cartridges, tonearms and turntables. Although the speakers and power amps are impressive (but totally unusable in the average home), I rather appreciate seeing the vintage components along side the newer generation components.

By not being able to hear the system performance (I.e., YouTube quality only) you really cannot appreciate the true effort that went into these system and room setups. Lucky for the most of us there is a step diminishing return factor in this hobby so most true audiophiles with their experience can actually come fairly close in performance to these "no cost spared" dreams.
