Wow,never heard of this receiver before, but then again I am not into vintage equipment really. Very unique detachable two piece chassis with the bulk of the main connections located on the side of the receiver. There is lots of info on the web, but it's bound to confuse you more than anything. Recently there have been G33 000's listed for anything from $2,000 to $14,000 dollars. There was one posted on CAM back in Jan 2012 for $4700. The ad is marked expired, not sold, so not sure exactly what that means.

Okay, this post has been hijacked and I am not happy. I am going to count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number I shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt I not count, neither count I two, excepting that I then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then and only then shall this post be put back on track.

There are some who call me.......Tim.

Around my house we just refer to it as "The Grail".

Well . I must object. Such blatant insolence should not be tolerated.
Other's have been driven from the village for less, my good man.
So at the very least he should have to bring you............ a shrubbery!!!

Help, help, I'm being repressed!

In any case, the equipment in question I really have no experience with - that receiver definitely demands pretty large dough though...but prices seem all over the map. Good luck with selling this equipment!

Hi,

I will keep my comments to the 33000 because it is the only piece I am familiar with.

I am an eBay top rated seller and would not recommend using eBay for an item this expensive, especially if you are new to online selling. Scammers prey on new sellers offering expensive electronics on eBay, and eBay offers little seller protection.

I have seen these go for $10000 when properly serviced plus you have the boxes etc. It is a collector piece. You may want to have it checked over by a reputable service company with documentation to maximize the selling value.

Depending on how confident you are with selling, I would try to sell locally on Kijiji and here on CAM for cash. Shipping would be a pain and cash is always king. If you are not confident selling, you could always get a third party to assist and verify buyers. Of course, they will take cut.

Very nice equipment! Good luck!

Hi , to see those three pieces together is amazing and I'm sure any serious Sansui person would give their left you know what to have them . I have a friend who's been a serious collector of high end for 25yrs and he's told me the 33000 was the only reciever he wishes he had never let go of , had it all , flavor , power and wow factor . The same guy just got a pair of the SPL 800's which I'm going to listen to on Monday and he told me to bring a diaper , said he never would have never believed that Sansui made a speaker that sounded that good , very JBLish . Apparently they are the reason JBL stopped using Sansui as their European distributor because they thought Sansui was stealing their sound/technology . Hope your friend does well with them and finds a deserving home for all three pieces . To put it in perspective it's like some guy saying I've got an old sports car I want to sell and when the garage door opens an original Shelby Cobra is sitting there .

along the same vein ...there was a Pioneer SX 1280 in mint condition on ebay. A bidding war ensued and eventually that went for over $3500 US !!!!

CRAZY

I have had the G33000 and SR-838 before, nice pieces!
You have to make sure you pack these properly and to double box them.
I might be interested in the G33000, i would not mind owning that receiver again!
People forget about the ebay/paypal fee's, you can automatically subtract 20% off the selling price plus 2.5% off the conversion rate as paypal won't allow you to keep your money in U.S. funds should you request to withdraw your money into your Canadian account even if you have a U.S. account.
It's not realistic to look at an ebay sale that sells for X amount of dollars and think that's what you should get locally due to the extensive fee's a seller must pay, just my opinion........

And a nice one with a two-level effect.....

"Old crone - tell us where we can find a shrubbery."

"No! No shrubberies! No shrubberies 'ere!"

"You'll tell us where we can find one...or we'll be forced to say Ni! to you."

"Do yer worst."
