Hi there,

New to this and not sure I'm in the right room..lol, but in need of advice.

I have a friend who has a few pieces of Top Notch vintage Sansui equipment. He is going to get them professionally checked out, but 2 items seem to be in perfect condition.

He is unsure of how to go about pricing...and in turn, selling them.

Sansui G 33,000 receiver/amp. Original & perfect cond.

Sansui SR 838 Turntable. Original & perfect cond.

Sansui SP L800 Speakers. Original, but woofer cones need to be repaired.

All come with original boxes.

We know that the G 33000 seems to be the Holy Grail of Sansui, but what about having a collection of these other pieces....with original boxes..??

Thanks for your input,

Buck

Selling separate is a good idea.
I've never seen one of those. Nice receiver but not my style.
You'll have to sell it in the US market to make the premium.
The big money is done though. Don't believe all you read on the net.

Wow,never heard of this receiver before, but then again I am not into vintage equipment really. Very unique detachable two piece chassis with the bulk of the main connections located on the side of the receiver. There is lots of info on the web, but it's bound to confuse you more than anything. Recently there have been G33 000's listed for anything from $2,000 to $14,000 dollars. There was one posted on CAM back in Jan 2012 for $4700. The ad is marked expired, not sold, so not sure exactly what that means.

Why doesn't he create an account and ask?

I too would recommend ebay, for the range of possible buyers from the international community, as well as the favourable exchange rate. Especially for the rare, expensive items.
I would set shipping conditions to allow certain countries but disallow others, based on the likelihood of scammers in specific locations.

Monty Python and the search for the holy grail. In my family we just call it "Holy Grail"

I suppose I should refrain from posting referencing inside jokes...

Well . I must object. Such blatant insolence should not be tolerated.
Other's have been driven from the village for less, my good man.
So at the very least he should have to bring you............ a shrubbery!!!

No!...not at all.
They could be carried by a swallow...gripped by the husk. :)
