Starting from scratch is great, study study and study some more,do not rush the build or you will make mistakes that will cost more and actually stop a perfect acoustic build with first mistake. You have the opportunity to do the small things that combined will deliver the most s.q.Besides the basic studies, hvac, elect.lighting ,door material etc.you have the opportunity to install hidden bass trapping in all 4 corners and slanted ceiling at speaker end, taking advantage and doing these things during build will make your room truly special. It is cheaper and visually cool looking when room is done this way,I won't get into specifics that's you studying again, but these things are what advanced designers would do for large sums of $.Doing it right the first time is most important of all things involved, then more money left for analog front end and tube amps to have a listening room that makes magic .Rooms built acousticly correct respond to acoustic treatments and audio tweaks, rooms that are not are a waste of money and constant aggravation,Knowledge is king! have fun with build and lots of luck...ZIPP
