This is the arm you will be looking for - to be accurate for a "Clockwork Orange" TT A Transcriptors "Fluid" tone arm.

And with a bit of spit n polish .........

Some fantastic photos here -

Nice find, if you were a bit close I would of had it off of you :?
As it is I would say $1500, serviced cleaned and polished $2500 maybe more.

The fitted SME is a sought after arm on its own ($500-$750)

Cheers. Thanks for the advice - don't suppose you know what model the SME arm is as not sure my dad can remember?

Hope I can get it looking like above - I may not be an expert but it is certainly is good looking. X

Very cool to watch this unfold!

That is a Transcriptor alright and it has a better tonearm than the original table had. I see yours has an SME Series IIS tonearm. It's hard to say what the table is actually worth but that would be what some collector would pay. If you check Ebay ads (check the Transcriptors that actually sold) and see what they sold for in the last year or so. That will give you an idea of what they are worth. Your table seems to be in moderately good condition, not excellent otherwise.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. It's all really appreciated.

I'm going to find someone who can give it a good service and see where I go from there. Got to dig out the original arm now...

Cheers x

The orig arm is not as good as the SME you have on it now. Assuming the SME was installed properly, leave that in the table and just offer the orig arm as well if you sell it. The demand for the table is more from film hobbiest collectors than it would be someone looking for a great performing table which unfortunately it is not.

Vinyl Engine is a very helpful site, based in Britain. You could find more vinyl aficionados closer to home.

Cheers,
Alec
