I've always liked Sherwood.
I have a sherwood 5000 (7189 version) and it's very nice, better than my scott lk72. My sherwood needed NOTHING, my tech did put modern speaker jacks though. Magnavox console amps are another good choice.

These might fit the bill if you can find one in excellent condition. I had one driving my less sensitive speakers at 87dB at 4 ohms with no issues whatsoever.
