In a previous thread http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/vi ... 21&t=42821 I was mentioning that I was building a speaker stand for that particular project and I had shown some Images as well. Since I have changed my mind addressing the DIY Multi Purpose Heavy Duty Speaker Stands, but after seen a few very-very nice creative sets on here and other forums I think my description to my own idea was wrong in that thread as these which I saw were all really Speaker Stands yet to my own thinking, and what I was really looking for should have been in its description called - DIY Multi Purpose Heavy Duty Speaker Display Platform - so not so much Speaker Stands simple because my own idea was pointing more towards a Multi Purpose & Heavy Duty set up allowing me to, and as said in that thread as well for the use within different applications.

Anyway, I think the attached Images will start to clarify that point quiet well.

So for me personally it will be from now on that I address these as Speaker Display Platforms rather then Speaker Stands as truly I think that would be a so much better & by far more precise & detailed description once you can see the completed project and its uses.

"Speaker shoes" is simpler.

Have you built 2 of these?
And just curious..are they for massive speakers?

I build only one (1) as a test set up for this enclosure http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=42821 but it also be for other Subs I just have to make up suitable plates so the subs can securely sit on it. This unit was intended to use 0 degree and 15 degree angle that is why the front tube is within a sliding set up!

Huh! Quite the project undertaking!
Your expertise in woodworking and engineering is peeking through.
Any window on completion?

YES, that is true both are quiet a project! the stand & the enclosure.
I have absolutely NO expertise in woodworking (but a great LOVE to wood) as I'm atually an electronic, automotive trades person (building, re-building & manufacturing of English Prestige Cars like Jag) as well as a MS computer engineer now in early retirement. So never worked much with wood!

As I spend a lot of time to do this DIY hobby like 24/7 anything is possible taken in concidiration that I have about 5 more projects on the go and others in the wings waiting. I'm still learning and finding new items and products I want to use to improve my workmanship. Now we getting better weather I assume I will be able to be more productive!
