I'm curious if either of you guys know why Goldring changed OEM suppliers for their entry level cartridges, from Nagaoka to Audio Technica? I was under the impression that an outsourced cartridge would still bear some resemblance to the house sound, but AT and Nag are quite different in that regard.

Were Goldring not able to come to some agreement with Nagaoka to supply the generator for these, or does this signal a shift in Goldring's direction, are am I simply reading too much into this?

BTW, I think these will be a runaway success for Goldring. I have a great deal of respect for AT's offerings, even at the entry level. Shame that Goldring is not offering better needles for these as the 3600 generator is certainly capable of showing what a better needle can do.
