I bought a Lyra Helikon from Robert Trica who informed me the the stylus had broken off by his friend's daughter. Simple accident so the cartridge could be repaired or traded in to Lyra for credit. I sent it to Soundsmith for a re-tip and to my surprise, they informed me that someone had placed glue into the cartridge trying to glue the cover or worst the stylus back on. The moving coils inside has been glued together so no way to fix. Lyra will not take a glued cartridge on trade so Robert sold me a piece of garbage.

I PM'd him to inform him of the situation and request a refund. He tells me no refund and I had bought it that way so now it was my problem.

What a guy! Real piece of work! Beware of Robert Trica!

Well, for sure Robert13 is in the wrong, and he's clearly some piece of work...
but seeing the ad, $275 for a >$2000 cartridge (stylus or not) really kinda speaks for itself - smacks of the "When it sounds too good to be true.." variety.
I have never bought a used cartridge and likely never will, for exactly this reason - you never know what it's been through.

Even if robert13 was unaware of the permanent damage, he should refund the full amount.

Hope it was worth the $275. You will not be able to sell anything else on this site.

.....sorry for my English!!!
I don't make business on Canuck.
I bought that cartridge for the same money and I sold it for the same money .I bought the cartridge an idea to exchange. Why I didn't exchange???because I bought another cartridge from Audiogon.

I provided to Bayer all the information what I know it before baying.

I didn't glued it!!!I didn't do nothing wrong on my opinion.

I'm really sorry about this, and I don't understand why members from Canuck accused me like I did a FRAUD.

All the best,
Robert

When a manufacture takes a cartridge in as part of a trade up program, I always thought they just destroyed the old cartridge? If this is the case, could you not just send the cartridge to Lyra and purchase a brand new cartridge? I doubt they would go through the trouble of opening it up and giving it the once over. I don't think that Soundsmith is a Lyra dealer, therefore, I would contact Lyra directly and find out specific details on their trade up program.

What kind of friend do you have that would sell you a cartridge that was garbage? You should reimburse the buyer, then get your money back from your friend.

Robert,
Despite you coming here and claiming innocence, if you did do as the buyer says, you should still be a good person and refund his money to him. To not do so is very dishonorable. The buyer claims that you said that someone broke the stylus while in your possession, and yet you claim that you did not glue the stylus back on...so which is it? Is the buyer lying to us?

I want to chime in here. I dealt with Robert recently. All was straight forward & went well. Based on the information indicated here, Robert, you MUST take back the product & provide a FULL refund. It is NOT FAIR to the buyer. Not knowing is irrelevant. The problem is yours to resolve with the person you purchased the cartridge from.

Noteworthy_2 is correct.
I really suggest that you follow his advise.
Think about it, this is your second feedback and it is negative.
