Just for the record my wife never cussed at vector, only the other way around, and often. We can debate whether or not my wife should have gotten involved, but her communication with vector was always civil, and devoid of any degradation. I stated this in my original post.
By the way the player is in excellent cosmetic condition and appears to be working well within intended parameters.

Glad that the player is as was represented. Sorry Good Sound about my choice of words above RE: your wife "cussing" obviously I don't know exactly what your wife said on the phone but personally I feel she should have left it to for you to deal with as her actions only made a bad situation worse. My guess is that vector probably got home from his trip, went to listen to his messages, many from you and then one from your wife then been like "what the hell? :x " Again nothing personal against you and your wife. I also went through a troublesome deal gone wrong locally on some non audio related items. In my case, poor comunication was the culprit as well with both me and the buyer hearing the same words to have different meanings . I thought I had a deal for a set price for pick up on a set day. The buyer was coming by on that day but when he got here (after keeping me waiting half the day) he offered me a low ball offer that had me fuming mad. I guess I just assumed that when he said he was coming on saturday that he had agreed to what I had told him was my lowest price. As far as I was concerned, as long as the item was in the shape I described and same as the pictures I had send, that it was sold for what I told him was my lowest price That is how I operate. If I tell someone I am coming it is with the intention of buying the item at what was the lowest offered price. Obviously, this other party in my case didn't work the same way and was content to waste most of my day off, only to offer me less money than I had told him was my absolutely lowest price. I was just shy of physically throwing him out of my garage. I can't remember being so mad in my recent past.

I'm glad that in the end you now have the player and can hopefully sell it quickly.
That having been said I hope that all parties can move forward.

Ron, now to the actual hifi part. Please post your impressions of your new machines. I remember your nice vintage Pioneer cdp had neared the end of its life and your were looking for a high end NAD M series I think - hope you got one in addition to the Elite unit.

You and vector sound like brothers. Quick to anger, than issue threats and insults, while trying to convince everybody that you did nothing wrong. Well the people of CAM are smarter than that and they see you guys for what really are

Hi Babi; Yes I did end up purchasing a used NAD M55 from a fellow here on Canuck. A terrific transaction, and a terrific player. I have only had a chance to listen to the Elite player briefly and while it is quite good for the money it's not in the same league as the NAD Masters series machine. When you consider the cost new for these two players that is how it should be. as the NAD was two and a half times the Elites price. While I have a good sized hi-rez collection, both DVD-A and SACD, the bulk of my music collection is still redbook CD's, and this is where the NAD really shines. Probably not quite the performance on CD's as a standalone redbook player of the same price range but much closer than most universal players where CD playback always seems to be the Achilles heel. Funny enough I always felt that this was also a strength of the Pioneer players as well, but like I said the NAD takes it up a notch. One day I would like to get back into vinyl as I feel the selling of my Linn was one of the biggest audio mistakes I have ever made, and there has been many, but it seems like such a daunting task these days even with the resurgence of vinyl. When that day comes I will surely be seeking your advice, along with others here, as I respect your knowledge and experience in this area. Thanks.

Good to hear you are enjoying the NAD Ron. I understand how daunting it would be to get back to the killer analoque system you had before (at least now you have completed the killer digital system). Fortunately used LP12 prices are not too bad these days but the fully blown ones are still hard to find used.

After 30 years with various tables, there are surprisingly few good all-round tables. My list for new tables would be pretty short: Rega, Technics, Project, Dual, Thorens and Linn. Lots of good used ones though.

Sadly a lot of the newer tables I have heard/used either have inconsistent quality control or (still!) have issues with speed stability, wow&flutter, rumble, other operational issues or otherwise have a lean balance that to me sounds nothing like vinyl.

Easiest way to to find a nice used high end Japanese direct drive, a good budget mm and I assume the NAD has a phono board. Should be able to get back into vinyl for the price of the Elite

Vector- your replies only help to support Goodsound's original post. I wouldn't buy a ____ing toaster from someone like you and hopefully nobody else does.

Unfortunately, the only indicator of your bad business is a -1 to your profile. Hopefully people see that and avoid you.

please delete - I know Vector read what I had here, and that's all that matters! I certainly won't be buying from Oshawa any time in the near future! Good luck V.

I'd like to officially apologize for my outbursts. I won't respond further, even if poked and prodded. The rest of you deserve better!
