Being uneducated can anyone inform me as to their dealings with Space-Tech? Quality of products? Service? Etc.

There's so many products it makes my head spin, and there's no chance of me auditioning their stuff, but on the other hand the company has such an intriguing line up of choices, some of which fit my needs.

Thoughts? And many thanks in advance to any help you can give me.

Interested in users' review as well.

Both times I was down in Vancouver but Albert was on vacation in Asia. Never heard his stuff but his design is very interesting.

listened to a pair of their monitors.

not impressed. look like vifa or peerless drivers in mdf boxes with stipple paint. not any better looking for stuff i built in the 90's with my friends. ok sounding - not worth the 1500 or so buxs!

There's another forum somewhere on Canuck about Space Tech. Their quality control is hit and miss, though no one complains about the sound. They do have a restrictive return policy which makes me wonder. I briefly owned one preamp of theirs. I wasn't happy with it due to heat issues.

I have one of their preamps, it's an older model and as noted by Dean the trafo gets a bit warm but not to the point I'm worried anymore..I think they might use different trafo's now. I really like it though, it sounds very nice and gets run about 6+ hours nightly for roughly the last 6 months. It has a set of balanced outs and one set of balanced in + the standard unbalanced outs and ins, my 1st time using balanced connections and I like, also If your into rolling tubes it is alot of fun. I also have a nice Modwright pre that is very well built with super nice parts but find myself gravitating to the Space Tech.

Albert at Space Tech is truly dedicated to this craft. I have known him for almost 20 years. His gear can be described as pedestrian looking, I agree, but the sound is exceptional. Layers and layers of depth.

He knows his stuff. I am convinced that He will go down as a legend in this industry.

I am an owner of his 100 watt fully balanced integrated and am smitten. I am a fan of home brew equipment. I own a 2A3 lofted white design with all tango iron and black gate caps with silver wiring etc.....

Phone him and have a chat. He is very affable. Kind of reminds me of the Don Allen amp with 807 power tubes that I have. These guys can build them every bit as good as the respected volume sellers.

Just my two bits.

I have his base phono pre which I auditioned against the Cambridge 650 and his blew it away, no comparison. I watched his site and picked up a used preamp for my HK mono blocks, I was happy with it as it smoothed out the harshness of the HKs but wan't impressed when I realized I dramatically overpaid for a Chinese rectifier tube for it. He builds good equipment and knows his stuff no question but now owning 2 pieces I wonder what the after market value of them is for when I get the
upgrade-itis.
