howdy...

I'm looking for a dealer for Acoustech products (not Acoustech Labs). These folks produce record care accessories, like record brushes - as a matter of fact, I'm looking for the the 'Big Record Brush' that they produce. Anyone out there (online or brick and mortar) carry this particular item?

thanks a bunch...

thanks but
Oops...I should have been more specific. In Canada only.

Do you know if Gigatones is in the US or Canada? Cannot figure it out on their site.

I have this brush. Don't regret buying it per se but you can find non branded versions of this brush for less money. Or at least you could. Haven't checked in years. Found out after buying it. They are the same thing as non Acoustech versions. All they did was put their name on a brush manufactured by someone else (IIRC)

There used to be drafting table brushes that were similar in design and materials.
The AcousTech seems identical to the Talas anti-static brush. Cheaper but when you factor in shipping cost it comes out close.

I, too, have this brush and, while I like it very much, I should have gotten the anti static version with the ground wire. But, it is a little too large to just have laying around (specially if it will collect dust while sitting). So, I find myself going for my smaller anti static carbon bristle Pro-Ject record brush more often than not before a spin. From time to time, I do pull out the big brush. Can't have too many brushes! :)

Best of luck finding it. I found mine used from a CAM member for a decent price, and wanted to try it out!

Thanks!

hey everyone...

thanks for all the responses. I finally did find a local dealer (Element Acoustics in Coquitlam) that can order directly from the manufacturer, which turns out to be Acoustic Sounds. Acoustech is their in-house brand.
Ordering this way means I'll by-pass the customs and shipping charges, so It's not ridiculously expensive...they will add this piece in with a big order. I'm putting this out there in case anyone else in interested in this item.

cheers!
