You have to visit your ad and then it will stop flashing. I have found the best way is to seach for your ad through the classifieds, click on it, and then the new responses should stop flashing.

Why search. Just click on my ads or new messages (then click message)

The site recognises me. I am sure most people on the forums would not bother log in each visit.

How do people send PM's. I've tried but they remain in outbox?
How do we get them into "sent messages"?
Thanks in advance

When you send a PM it stays in your outbox until the person you sent it to logs into the site. At that point the PM goes into your Sent folder. If the recipient logs in daily (not everyone does) then the PM gets delivered as soon as he arrives, but if he does not log on for several weeks or months, it will just sit in your outbox for that long.

If I can offer a few suggestions from other forums that I am a part of. A welcome center for new users who may not be familiar with this forum would be good, this could allow people to introduce themselves, why they are here, and any immediate questions they may have. The welcome center may also lay out some of the other things that are not as clearly laid out, like the fact that you require 3 posts before you are able to PM people or other currently unwritten rules. The introduction section would get that first post out of the way and possibly break the ice.
Forums are fairly straight forward but they are all a little different.

Another stupid question:
Where do I post an ad, and where do I browse ads, on CAM?

See, told you it was another stupid question.
I have spent so much time browsing the forums, to learn about this site, that I forgot about the main CAM site itself.
The only link to the CAM site on the forums page is the large one on the top, which I ignored because it's on all pages and does not look like a link.
Patience, butterfly...

How do I edit a post I make? I tried to redo the quote in my post above, but had to post another message to ask why the quote function is not working well, and not just in my messages.

I believe the forum you're posting in may not allow edits. Go to your post in another forum and you should find an edit bar at the right hand side base of the message beside the quote bar.

I must have read page one 10 times and tried at least 20 but for the life of me when I'm posting a reply I can't insert a picture after clicking on the img. I see it go to the window [img] [img] with the cursor in the middle then I paste the url of the pic in there and submit. When I view it all I get is the f@#%&* url in words like this: [img]f@#%&*url[img] which I delete hopefully undetected.
Can someone spell this out for me in newb101? Sure would appreciate it.

I have noticed other pics are called attachments...
