A friend was asking me about a good, small, cheap sub to install in his accent.
I donÂ’t know anything about car audio and taught about you guyÂ’s!

I had a JL audio 10W7 in my accent for a while... but it is neither small nor cheap. I'd recommend one of the less expensive JL subs. they make a solid driver.

Ask about his listening habits, the 10W7 may be an overkill , it needs more power amplification than its lower siblings. It is an excellent choice though at the diameter, to save some space too in the trunk. Not all ported design sub manufacturers play clean and loud as JL does.

Alpine is always a safe bet, they've been in the game for years.
This one is good:

Of course it has to be put in a box, and amplified.

A good all-in-one solution from FS is:

The Bazooka will be pretty good in an Accent.
I wouldn't go any cheaper than that.

As my VW is a lease, I can't/won't go nuts with audio in the car. It does have a very decent sounding system already, however, not much bass.
I added
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/prodde ... 256&catid=

and am much happier.

Yeah you guys gave already some great recommendations! The only thing I want to add ist that you should think and safe at the right place.
To safe at the sub woofer could be the wrong place - i would invest more in the sub woofer and the speakers and might safe by buying a cheaper radio ;)
